Maternity photos are awesome for freezing those magical moments of pregnancy and the excitement of a new baby on the way. A lot of moms-to-be wonder, "When should I do my maternity photos?"

There are a few things to think about when picking the perfect time.

The stage of your pregnancy is key. Many photographers suggest scheduling your photos between 28 to 32 weeks along. Around then, your bump is cute and noticeable, plus you're still comfy enough to move around and enjoy your photoshoot! After all, its really just a fun date night with you and your love (plus don't forget about your favorite third wheel!)

During this period, you'll probably have that amazing pregnancy glow (it could just be sweat but ya know what, we are gonna WORK IT girl!) and feeling somewhat energetic— great for capturing the excitement of your growing fam!

One Reason Not To Wait Too Long?

This isn't something we ever want to happen or even think about...but it's always a possibility that the baby decides to make their appearance earthside early! If you wait too close to your due date, and your baby decides they are done cooking in there, you could miss out on getting those precious shots beforehand!

Besides how far along you are, consider where and when you're taking pics.

Lots of future mamas love outdoor shoots in spring or early summer since the weather's nice and nature’s showing off its best colors. Indoor pics work anytime but pick a spot with great natural light where you'll be super comfortable (nursery maternity shoots are soooo cute!)

In the end though? It’s totally up to what works best for you and makes you happy.

Some might wanna get snaps while their bump is just starting out; others may hold off until it’s really popped by the third trimester.

Regardless of timing, what's most important is capturing this special chapter so it's both meaningful and memorable for you and your growing family. So whether you're bump is just bumping or closing in on delivery day—the right time is simply whenever *you* feel ready to celebrate this beautiful ride called motherhood!
